Spelzkissen

Spelt cushion, spelt

From left to right: spelt glume, millet husks, buckwheat husks

Spelt glume
is loose, airy and conveys pleasant warmth. Since spelt husks do not have a firm structure, the cushions have a yielding and springy effect. Hildegard von Bingen attributes positive effects to spelt overall.

Millet husks
are fine-grained, easily movable and keep the heat. Since the millet husks glide well together, these millet husk cushions are very cuddly and do not make any noise. Millet husks are approx. 18 % heavier than spelt husks (with the same volume).

Buckwheat husks
are traditionally used in Japan as a filling for pillows. Buckwheat husks are said to relieve headaches. But they certainly have a cooling effect and give the head a stable hold. Buckwheat husks are approx. 40 % heavier than spelt husks (with the same volume).
